| Laura Beeler is a certified public school reading teacher, in her past time as a mother and community member Laura teaches women of all ages in the creative arts. Laura uniquely combines fabric, paint and tile as mediums for self-reflection. She believes expressing yourself through the arts can provide oneself with balance and clarity. When Laura is hired as one of the guest facilitators, she will teach mothers of MamaMeah! the power of making a home art piece as a reminder of each mother's unique spirit and talent. Laura is mother to Maya. Laura's hobbies include: reading, art projects, mountain biking, hiking and sailing. Annie Jonas has worked for the last fifteen years as a group facilitator and educator. Annie holds a Masters in Education and works full-time as college professor in the field of education. She is the founding member of two non-profits and has facilitated for the last ten years professional development groups, women wellness retreats, and strategic vision retreats. Annie worked for twelve years with the Outward Bound Schools facilitating large and small groups of women in a wilderness setting. When she is not teaching her college students, Annie works with women of all ages to improve communication skills, develop personal and family vision statements, and to encourage and sustain a life-long love of learning. Annie's personal interest includes mountain biking, hiking, running and playing soccer. Janet Langley is a certified Yoga instructor, has been teaching yoga for 10 years and recently took over running The Rose Acupuncture and Yoga Center. She also studied Early Childhood and Education, and taught in the public school system for more than a decade, which nurtured her appreciation of the many aspects of child development and styles of parenting. In her 20 years of studying yoga, she has discovered its healing aspects as it pertains to life's challenges, whether they be preparing for childbirth, or balancing the hectic lives of loved ones. A balanced individual--- in mind, body, and spirit--- will better serve themselves and the ones around them. Janet focuses her classes to promote this balance so that each woman leaves class with tools to use in her daily life. Janet's hobbies: Yoga:-) and watching good movies. Katy McCormick Pearson has worked as an educator and facilitator with girls and women for the last eighteen years. Her masters in Counseling and Experiential Education has led Katy to examine and to teach resilient characteristics in women of all ages As a skilled group facilitator Katy will facilitate retreat sessions that foster self-reflection and empowerment through music, art, and the written word. Katy worked nationally and internationally with the Outward Bound Schools to facilitate individuals and groups in the process of self-discovery through rock climbing, white water paddling and back packing. Katy has two daughters, Grace and Lily. Katy's personal interests include: running, skiing, sailing, kayaking and dressing-up with her daughters. Susan Thompson holds a Masters degree in Theatre Education. Susan has been teaching and facilitating the dramatic and creative arts for over 13 years. Susan's passion is working with non-actors to help give them voice to who they truly are. Although Susan has worked with personal of all ages and abilities, she has focused a great deal of work on the issues faced by girls and women. Through improvisation she believes that we can all tap into both the silly and the profound creator that lies within all of us. Susan is mother to Lucie. In her spare time Susan loves to cook for friends, make books, run and bike in the mountains. Kim Zwemer-Margulis is a master's level Youth and Family Therapist. Her past studies of Women's history, childbirth and midwifery have provided her with the necessary tools to facilitate groups of women in the ever-changing process of becoming mother. Kim uses the power of celebration and creative art tools as mediums for self-discovery and reflection. Kim is mother to Joah. Kim's personal interests include being a certified permaculture designer, student of Good Medicine Native American Studies and Shamanic Journeying. | |||
